Wow. Wonder if lack of cold winters makes a difference for you.

Delivered 3/27/10. Still on original battery.

Now I'm concerned!

Dennis can you add a choice "still on original" This will be an interesting pole to monitor.I'm impressed with my Varta.4th real Canadian winter and it still cranks over my 20:1 diesel at -35c as if it was a gasser.

8 years later and 8 brutal winters later I decided to replace my batter as a precaution, LOL. I'm sure my experience is not typical but does prove batteries can last a long time. The exterior temp and driving cycle greatly impact the longevity of a battery, as well as where it is placed inside the car. However having a battery last 5 years should be a reasonable expectation and is probably typical.

Default I replaced my RS4 battery at 7 years just to be safe

I think Audi uses AGM batteries which last a long time. I have not looked at my battery yet on my new to me 2014 SQ5 but I expect the same. Many RS owners were seeing 10 years.

What kills batteries is heat. Putting the battery in between the double fire wall Audi used was great to reduce this issue. But putting them in the trunk was better. Going to AGM technology was even better.

What most people don't realize is that though heat kills batteries it takes cold weather to show it up because cold weather causes oil to thicken and metals to constrict causing friction to make the starter motor to need more Amps.

I can't modify the survey. But I am looking for replacements only because those still having original would distort the stats because of leases and trade Ins.

Thanks.

Still on original battery. 2012 with just over 122,000 kms (76,000 miles). To say we have cold winters would be a bit of an understatement.
