I leave it on and off. When it's on, there is no cool air to the back of trunk. If I carries something that is not heat friendly during summer time, I take it out.

Take out only to carry larger loads - don't hear much difference in front but rear seat passengers say it's a bit noisier with it out.

I ended up banging my forehead on it when leaning in to get stuff, so I pulled it out and have never put it back in. The tint on the windows hides things well enough for me.

I leave it in unless I need more storage space in the back. I have not noticed any rattles from mine (knock on wood). I occasionally (rarely) use it as a shelf - if I have formal wear/hanging clothes, I will lay them flat on the cargo cover rather than hanging them - especially if the rear seat has passengers.

same here. only pull it out when hauling tall cargo. it kills some of the tire noise in the back

I leave mine in except for tall cargo ( garden bags to the dump usually!) Mine started to rattle but the fix in SJGQ5 's post cured that instantly.

I took it off after I hit my forehead on the edge of it for a second time.

Only off if camping, skiing, or hauling stuff and need the extra room. Otherwise, on for privacy and security (prying eyes and all that).

Mine stays in almost all the time. I can anticipate hauling larger items pretty easily, and this way it doesn't take up space in another part of the house.

I always wondered why the rear seats fold forward a couple of inches before folding flat!
