That doesn't seem like nearly enough savings to justify "risking" the lower octane - premium all the way for me, cheap or not...

Sadly, no such luck here in Michigan.

Here is a site that tracks stations that sell pure gas.

Well that sucks... just another case of too much government. Fortunately, no such mandate where I live in Wisconsin.

Is it all of Illinois or just large metro areas, like Chicago ? I thought Milwaukee had a similar requirement and that it was based on a Federal regulation, not state.

Don't believe everything you read people, especially on an internet forum. This thread is full of poor advice and mis-information about gasoline. If you're not willing to do your homework, stick to what the manufacturer recommends - in ALL your vehicles

Can you elaborate? Specifically, what statements are poor advice?

Ha! Nice try. I can think of at least six incorrect statements in this thread, but only a fool would start 6 fights with one post

Actually the only "risk" is lowered gas mileage. Having said that I always use 93 octane, but my wife always uses 89 octane and she has never had any engine problems, despite having put over 100K miles on her last two Audis.

Nice try what? You make a post about as vague as can be. So I guess it really wasn't a nice try on your part.
