Default Getting ready to buy a Q5

Hey guys,

New member here. I'm getting ready to buy my very first non-japanese engineered car, and I'm very excited. I'll be picking up a 2012 Audi Q5 3.2 premium plus this weekend! I've read that the newer Q5s are much more reliable than their predecessors and I'm hoping that to be true. The car is covered with the factory 50k mile warranty, but i'm thinking about buying some extended warranty. Anybody have any experience with buying the warranty and do you think it was worth it?

I've been told that the maintenance on Audi's are kind of expensive, which kinda scares me, but I love the design of this car. Hopefully it doesn't break the bank!

Thanks for your input.

Not sure about extended warranty but I recommend that you look into a maintenance service plan if you are to buy from a dealer. Ask them what's included, and how much. For newer Audi this is a great deal, takes care of all maintenance up to 85k or 105kmiles depending on the type.

Good luck with the shopping!

Get the extended warranty, after haggling them down a bit.
One carbon clean-out should pay for it...plus anything else.

No. They put an extra injector in the intake to wash the valves.
From what I've read on here, I think it was mainly the 3.2's.
