lol, same thing for me. Low temp is fine, medium gets very hot, and I'm afraid to try high as medium is already too hot.

Granted it's not that cold here yet, but I'll probably be using medium when I first start the car then have to drop to low after a few minutes.

In my 2014 SQ5 with sport seats, I finally tried out the heated feature.
Turned on...three lights...within two minutes, my *** was toasty.
I turned it down to two...just right. Perfect warmth on bottom and back.
I haven't tried it on one, but probably never will if it's so low you can't feel it.

My wife and I find our heated seats in the 2014 TDI comparable to our 2003 325 and our 2011 Z4. We use 3 to get them nice and toasty and turn them down to 2 or 1 depending on how our creaky old backs are feeling. My wife did note that the seat heater did not "seem" to warm up as much with the "AC on" or "high ambient temps" (not sure which), during one of her creaky back events this summer. I think probably high ambient temps limit the heat output. Overall - No complaints compared to the BMW's version.

Four minutes on high and I start to smell charred flesh.

Ours either (same MY). Apparently no fix. This is our fourth Audi and the other three, on the highest setting of six, would "burn your biscuits" to paraphrase Stinky Pete in Toy Story 2.

I took it in for service, and the dlr said it was normal. I never had an issue in my MB or 2 x BMWs with the calibration of mild to hot. I'm surprised they couldn't engineer this correctly.

The highest setting on my 2012 feels like it should be a low setting on any other car.

tried today and my '15 Q5 TDI burns your butt on the highest setting (I also have the ventilated seats). On my '12 Q5 2.0T on setting three was warm but definitely not toasty. setting two and one did nothing. I have the regular seats on that one.

Mine heats fine but it annoys me how it automatically steps down after a certain amount of time. It seems to get extra hot & then step down. My Lexus did the same thing but I was able to get the dealer to override it so it kept on stage 3
