Default How to find shipping vessel in transit??

So, the "Owner in Waiting" updates didn't work as I just found out through the dealership that my '16 SQ was already built and loaded in Emden on 6/6. The only information the dealership provided was the vehicle shipping #188... I've easily spent a couple hours searching vessel tracking sites and otherwise trying to figure out the vessel's location, name, etc using the 6/6 departure + port and the tentative houston arrival.

Does anyone know how to find a ship with only the #188 vessel number??

to add...I have some assumptions based on the Emden's port departures and the type of ships leaving, but it would be nice to know exactly if possible...

Just ask your dealer. They should have the name of the vessel for you to track...unless of course you dont want to seem too eager!! I asked, they gave and I tracked!

188 is the Hoegh Bangkok.
Google "vessel tracking" and you can find the latest ship location.

I followed back up with the dealership, though, I don't expect to get the information I'm looking for...you'd think they would have that...

From a previous post:

Go to*Die PWL Gruppe, click on the English flag for English language. Click on "schedules" on the left and scroll to the bottom to Volkswagen Logistics. Click on the PDF file associated with Volkswagen Logistics. This brings-up a file that has the current schedule. Note the ship that corresponds with your loaded on ship date. Download the document because it changes regularly.

As the saying goes, "your ship has sailed!"

Thanks Don!
I haven't figured out how to attach a file using my smarter-than-me phone.
