Key Keeps Falling From Ignition Slot
Hi everyone, i have an urgent question about my Q5,
My key won't stay in the ignition slot. I can start the car up, but once my car starts up the key falls out of the slot. I can also turn of the engine, but my key always slips out even when the car is on. What should I do?

A yearound later but I had the same issue. I was playing around with it for ages and I noticed that a little catch had got stuck on the inside upper side of the slot. Flipped it around and bobs your uncle, fixed.
I was on the verge of paying a small fortune to have that replaced.
Hope this helps

This post just saved my little fortune. Thanks guys.
What happened to me, was my son playing with slot and it got stuck into the end and never bounced back. The key keeps failing out of the slot, car starts normally and failed key defective code.
I tried to check what was wrong and can't see it until i saw this post, perhaps it was only a small jammed somewhere in the slot.
Solution to my problem:
What i did was, i put my finger in the slot (bottom part) and pull the slot out. It resume to normal position and i would put in my key fob and locked in after start.
Cheers.

Hi Steve,
We seem to have the same problem with our 2013 Audi A5. I can't see a catch in the inside upper side of the slot... would you be able to send a photo by any chance, of what it should look like? I realise you may not still have the car! Thank you
