Lava grey paint
Being in the market for a Q5, I'm looking at every available paint job to see if I could imagine owning it. I was in Malibu recently and there stood a new Q5 TDI in lava grey. It's paint rich as fine wine, changing colors based on where the light hit it. It was absolutely stunning.
However, the paint looks rather dull IMO on older models (2007-2010), too brown and not enough shine. Has the quality and color of the paint changed since then, or is it just an optical illusion? It certainly seems less brown on all the new Q5s and Q7s I've seen, in different lighting conditions, and with way more shine. More of a deep, dark grey with amethyst, bronze, and copper undertones, and just plain gorgeous.

Pearlescent paints change color slightly depending on the angle of the light
This color varies between light and dark grey
