with 4 adults and 3 pre-born babies . Quite happy with that and plenty of gusto when I needed to get around others.

Very nice Mark. I'm getting 22-24 MPG towing a 3200# travel trailer. This is the first diesel I've owned, but certainly won't be the last! I also have a 5x10 utility trailer (3500# axle) for hauling "stuff" (sod, rock, IKEA furniture). Not missing my traded-in Nissan Frontier's pickup bed in the least. IMHO, a Q5 TDI and good utility trailer will give any pickup a run for its money, at least up to 4400#. Obviously a pickup is the way to go for "real" off-roading, pulling a full horse trailer etc, but for my needs this a great setup...

Q7's don't have the interior space that I assumed they would from the outside size. I'd likely look elsewhere if I were in that situation...

Congratulations to both, regardless the number of "buns in the oven"! People are small in the pic, my eyes are not 20/20, and one never assumes anything!
I wen to Edmond, OK this morning with the roof racks in place and two 6.6' long containers lashed down to them...weight was about 80 pounds. The angle of the racks gave those long boxes an upward slant at the front and at 75 mph (speed limit) they certainly had a lot of resistance on them. Heavy winds today, too. 32.7 mpg on the computer if I recall.
