Default Liking the Q5 - wish I bought tire protection package

Two months into my 2016 Q5 2.0T and I have a nail in a tire. It looks like it's too far towards the sidewall to be patched. I wish I had purchased the tire/wheel package. New tire is $275. I don't remember the exact price of the package, but I recommend new buyers consider it!

Tire and tire repair technology has advanced. Many shops now can repair nail side wall punctures with their hot vulcanize method. Kinda scary to watch your tire on fire though. I would trust that fix from a reputable shop.

Get the new tire at Discount then buy road hazard certificates on all of them. Cheaper than the tire package at the dealer.

I just had a nail go through the sidewall of my tire. Had it up and running at Discount in 1 hour. No charge except to buy a certificate on the new tire. 36 bucks.
