Magnaflow Exhaust for my TDI?
Been thinking about upgrading my exhaust on my 2015 Q5 TDI S-line for a while now.....just not sure?
Found a Magnaflow kit online (PN#15331). However, I am not able to find any data on its performance? So I emailed Magnaflow. Took a few emails and a couple of weeks but this is what I got.
Link
MagnaFlow Exhaust Products - For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles
First email from Magnaflow;
I don’t show a specific dyno sheet for that vehicle released from engineering yet. It being a diesel engine 15TQ and 10HP would be an accurate guess on gains for the vehicle.
Second email from Magnaflow;
I was able to snag one walking through our office this morning. They said the vehicle they had was a Quattro and we don’t have 4WD dynamo-meter (it is in the works though). Gains may be a little higher than I guessed with smaller displacement Audi engines showing larger gains than average in the past. I am sorry I couldn't provide exactly what you were looking for.
So my questions are...
Does anyone have this installed on their vehicle?
Is it worth it?
Does it install just like they say or is there any modifications needed?
Are you seeing a noticeable improvement in power and/or gas mileage?
Is there a different exhaust system out there that is better?
Thanks
Dan

I can't see this doing much as it is essentially a cat back system. Remember we still have the DPF and urea injection system that really chokes and limits our exhaust.

I've used magnaflow catback systems on other vehicles in the past and was pleased with the performance and sound. So if they can show me a modest gain in hp/tq on the dyno I'd put one on in a second.

I did a while back when I got a deal I could not pass up.
The install went on pretty straight forward. Took me longer to get my wife to help me get the car on the ramps than the actual install.
Isn't isn't really loud when you step on the gas but does sound better then stock. No wired noises at the highway speeds.
I will say it made a more noticeable sound difference when I did the stock airbox mod. I will try and post that soon, been really busy with work and the remodeling of my house.
Here are a few pictures I took when I installed it. Keep in mind I painted my tips black to match the car.
