MMI Oil Level Display Pic
I am little worried about the oil consumption in my 2015 Q5 2.OT, I have 11,200 miles on the clock and when looking at oil level display, the mark is between max and low. I will post the pic when I go home this evening.
In the first 5000 miles, I did not loose any oil, the level was at max when the oil change was done. But, now after 6000 miles after the oil change, it is now at half level mark between max and low.
Can we make this thread for those pics purposes?
Please post your pic if possible and also please post how many miles since your last oil change So that we can have some data to refer to and think about if we are having any issues and also we can look at the consistency.

Half way between min and max is about half a liter. If that's what your display shows, then half a liter of consumption in 6K miles is pretty normal, I would say. I personally wouldn't be alarmed.
Oil consumption is partly affected by driving patterns as well.
Also keep in mind, these electronic oil level sensors aren't always very accurate. Buy yourself a physical oil dipstick for more accuracy.

I have experienced Audi dealers overfilling the engine many times. They vacuum the old oil out, and perhaps they don't get all of it. Then they probably add the prescribed amount of oil to the engine. Some old oil plus new oil = too much and the MMI displays FULL when it is actually overfilled.
Then after thousands of miles the display finally moves to 1/2 liter down and you think I suddenly have oil consumption. You had oil consumption all along, you just didn't know it.

If the car is overfilled, the MMI doesn't show the bar graph. It does say the oil is overfilled and to remove (some) oil.

One of these days Audi will adopt modern technology, and put a tiny borescope camera inside the engine body, trained at a set of lines scribed on the oil pan or engine passage, so you can actually SEE just where the oil does or doesn't come up to. Actually observing the exact and correct oil level, in accord with those precise German Engineering Standards that Audi claims to uphold.
Then again, maybe Harbor Freight already sells the Audi OEM Retrofit Kit to do that. Gotta run down and check. (VBG)

Here you go. I changed the oil at 55k miles, and never topped it off. It usually shows about 1/4 or 1/2 on the display. And I verify it with my dipstick.
The oil stops in between the min and max on the dipstick, right above the halfway point. Hope that helps you sleep better.
My current mileage is 64,444.
