The Big Test: 2015 Luxury Compact Crossovers Page 3

Although not part of the official test..would have done well..too bad BMW and MB couldn't come up with their own diesels..

MT says 5.8 secs 0-60. feels about right. and 14.5 1/4 mile ain't bad at all.

All while getting mileage and performance than the 2.0t ever could....
(not to mention, i bet it holds it's value way better than the 2.0t as well)

Too bad Audi couldn't provide MT with a 2.0t for the test. It probably would have done OK, although the Q5 is getting a little long in the tooth.

"Real MPG findings of 26.4/35.0/29.3 mpg city/highway/combined seem unreal for a vehicle this size."

Exactly the MPG I'm getting. People reacts the same with the above statement when I show them the data.

Default TDI

Generally speaking, are US TDI owners paying approximately $.75-1.00/gal. More for diesel than 91 or 93 octane premium unleaded?

Here in New Jersey (I live in NYC but fill up in cheaper Jersey)

It's about a 20 cent difference right now. In the summer they will be about the same.

Unreal indeed. I'm always impressed by the TDI's fuel efficiency for a vehicle of its size.

Diesel is $0.50 cheaper than Premium here in Southern California.

In very specific regions, maybe, but in general it's nowhere near that. Pricing differences will fluctuate, though, because petrol prices are much more volatile than diesel. If you're in the NE where heating oil is a thing, then diesel prices will be higher in winter (as there's less supply going to #2).

Around here, diesel looks to currently be the same price as premium. Normally it'd be running somewhere between 20-40 cents higher, but again that kinda varies.
