I am so glad I am one of those guys that just pulls in and fills up not thinking of MPG's or the price. Doesn't matter if it is 60 cents or $6. You still gotta have it. Life is much more than MPG

1+ to that view. Life's too short not to enjoy a German car.

AFAIK the factor of 108 is the most accrue. It matches my hand calculation with a margin of error in less than 3%.

I'm getting a combined of 29-30. City 22-25, highway (around 70 mph) 32-35.
does anyone have a link that shows how to make this adjustment?

I think one of the fun parts of the TDI is enjoying the tidal wave of torque and then figuring out that you got 30MPG snapping your neck back.

Open control module "17 Instruments", go to "10 Adaptation", select channel to 03.

By default it's 100, change it to 108, save and commit.

If you have NOT done this before, ask someone who has done it before to do it for you. Sometimes the numbering and location of the modules are different.

I echo others with about 10% optimism in the default trip computer on my TDI. Here you can see are my changes to get it as accurate as possible. Yesterday I changed it from 108 to 106 and will get 5 fill-ups at this setting to see where it averages. If it swings too high, then I'll go to 107...

and while at it, here are my real world (hand calculated) values:

One of those first (29-30 mpg) tanks included a 45 mile stretch that I was averaging 37.9 per the computer, which at the time was 10% optimistic:
