"Audi will add convenience by offering a Mobile Share data plan option to AT&T wireless customers who would like to add their vehicle to their existing smartphone or tablet data plan."
Sounds like it's just a way for AT&T to sell you more data. Imagine what a GPS service uses in data, or other communication services within the car. Hopefully, those with built in GPS can still use it without having to pay for data.
I have a smartphone with unlimited data, what more does this offer if I have to pay for the data? I guess the convenience of seeing the data in the heads up display?

The Press Release also states, "Audi and AT&T* today announced that 2016 model year Audi vehicles will offer AT&T 4G LTE or 3G coverage."
The fact that Audi included 3G in their statement shows that at least one of Audi's connected models will not support 4G in 2016. Based on what we know about the Q5's refresh, more than likely the Q5 won't support 4G until the refresh.

I believe that with the delays in their Mexico Factory, you will probably see the 4G in the new late 2016 but more likely 2017 model. No way do you catch me buying the first rev of Audis out of that new facility 4G or not.

I know that my incoming 2015 will not support what is offered in the press release, but will I be able to use an ATT sim in the 2015 with the data share? Ideas?
