Default New SQ5 owner !

Hi all,

First thread here : I'm officially an Audi SQ5 owner ! Right in time for our little baby (August).

Coming from a GTI, we are super happy about the "trade". Been following the forum since our order back in April.

MY15 SQ5 Daytona Gray, Technik (Prestige in CAN), 21", B&O, NAV, Carbon inlays, rear sunshades

Will post pictures later, pretty dark when we got home. Forgot to take pictures in the dealer showroom...so awesome, people were staring at our car during their shopping.

In the end, thanks everyone for their input. Really helpful.

Later !

Congrat!! I still need to wait at least two months before I see mine. Wondering when did you place your order and where are you based at?

First Daytona SQ5, maybe, but there's one or two Daytona Q5s from a few years ago around here somewhere, as it's been an S-Line color. They don't come up as often as all those silly people and their Scubas, though.

But congrats, that should be an awesome combo (I really like Daytona, very nice grey, might've gone that way had I been going S-Line on my TDI). And very much a "big GTI". Should be a whole lot easier getting babies in and out with the increased clearance (less having to bend over to get a big carrier in). Certainly easier to harness my kids in my Q5 than my wife's Golf.

Congrats on the car and the upcoming baby!!! I'm sure you will LOVE BOTH!!! We got our SQ5 last year and now we are waiting for our first child in October. I guess for us the Estoril Blue was a forecast of our baby boy.

While not a SQ5, I just picked up a Prestige Daytona TDI this past weekend. The color rocks!

Chuck. What tires you got with 21"? Have you shop around for the winter wheel and tires yet? I was thinking the Pirelli Scorpion Winter 20"

I really like the color. My favorite for Audis.
I think my wife would have preferred Lava Grey but not offered in CAN for MY15.

Funny how the first picture shoes how daytona is different with light or not.

Left doors are in the sun, but the front in the shade...

Pirellis. Read Dunlops were better in pretty much every aspect, but rim protection is good on Pirellis ; no idea if it's a fact though.

I had Pirellis P Zero Neo A/S on my GTI and they were so noisy after 2 summers, got rid of them for Michelin Pilot Super Sport (awesome).

We should have more options for 21" summer soon (Michelin get your s*** together).

For winter now, some rumors about 21" tires in the coming weeks, we'll see.
But in Montreal, winter can be/is nasty so I'll go for 20". 19" doesn't look good enough on SQ5, and I don't wan to sacrifice too much the niftyness of the car.

So far, undecided between Scorpion and Blizzak LM-60.
My sister have Scorpions on her A4 and they're pretty good.

Thing is, where to get the rims now...I'd like an OEM look (replikas, I don't care).

For replicas, Hartmann is pretty much the standard. The main thing to be cautious of is the offset, as the replicas don't always use the exact same offset as the OEM.

My dealer told me MY15 will come standard with Dunlop (as I was hoping for Pirelli) and I will see if I can get the 20" OEM wheel from the dealer as well.

Thanks for the pics. Daytona looks great.

I want to make a new personal goal -- no pics with mirrors up unless it's about mirrors being up. Whenever I take a pic of my SQ5 (and, vainly, this is a lot) and I've left the mirrors up I kick myself after! Friends don't let friends do mirrors up Q selfies.

Your SQ5 looks great! Did your 2015 Canadian model come with the flat bottomed steering wheel?

Thanks.
