Guys Beware...if you have after market trailer wiring Harness in your car. You have to do it a bit different. You have to use the RED secondary brake wire.

So all four wires are installed;

Trailer Wire - Audi Wire - Audi Plug - Function
Yellow - Gray / Black - Top Orange - Left Turn
Green - Solid Gray - Bottom Black - Right Turn
Brown - Yellow - Middle Black / Pink - Running Light
Red - Red / Black - Unused Red Plug - Brake

The Red wire (at least in my kit) is hooked to the unused Red square plug. Mine was just secured out of the way, located just forward of the control box.

Tonight I officially joined the amber blink club. Swap/install was easy peasy.

I visited the Dealership when I was on my last business trip to Kansas City. The parts guy was able to find and order me the US Spec connectors that go on the back of the lights.

2 connectors cost me about $8 and took 2 days to get.

These are necessary if you don't want to take the connectors from your US Spec OEM factory lights. In case you might want to reinstall them later or sell them.

Connector part number
8K0-972-994-A

Thank You Dan. I was going to order a pair and put up the US Spec lights for sale. This helps!

If you didn't want to swap out (or pay for) euro spec tail lights but still wanted to achieve the same look/function, that's also an option via VCDS. The only difference is the turn signals will be red instead of amber.

(With turn signals/hazards)

(With brake lights)

If you decide to go this route, you will need to tweak the codes a bit from the OP's original message or else the brake lights and signals will be reversed on the US spec.
