Does anyone happen to know the codes for US spec taillights? I used the codes OP mentioned however like @jcutchall mentioned the brake lights and signals were reversed. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure patterns in the codes. I haven't decided whether to get euro-spec taillights at this time but would like to change the way current taillights work.

Thanks.

Guys, need some help here. I received my ROW (amber) tail lights, but prior to installing, I coded with VCDS to ensure it would work with my US spec lights prior to installing, no issues at all.

With the EU/ROW tail lights, I just popped open the little connectors, took out the pins and swapped the connectors over. Plugged in the lights, and the behavior was reversed. So, I figured there must be something in the lights that need to be coded. So, I used VCDS, recoded back to US, then back to the changes mentioned in the thread(s), using TEST before SAVE, still not working.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

You wire the lights correctly when you swapped your connectors?

I checked that again too. I took pics of each connector before as a guide, and put them back in the same order. I can check again to be sure. I've attached the pic of the euro connector (black) and the us connector (tan) for reference.

Ok... Not a problem. I'm curious though, from a coding perspective, do we know what each bit is in each of those channels? If not, is there a way to find out?

Jay,

Try this...is what I did to make my wife's car work.

Channel--- Code
195--------- 5
196--------- 37
197--------- 12
198--------- 44

Not sure if this will fix your problem, but worth a try....just make sure you make good notes, encase it doesn't.

Well, I did some troubleshooting today. I used my digital multimeter and checked the pins for blinker and brake lights. I swapped the pins for each and it's working fine now. I must have inadvertently swapped the pins, or, the pins on the ROW and US tail lights are in fact swapped. Dunno, but it's working now, so yay. 8-)

Has anyone said anything about the brightness difference between the full red LED and the single row of amber LEDs?
