Q5 to 2017 A4?
#11
I think the new A4s are really aesthetically pleasing inside and out. I've test driven the new Q7 which has the same tech as the new A4, and it's quite nice. If you don't need a SUV, you'll be super happy with the A4.
As for me, I'm waiting for the redesigned SQ5... which apparently is going to get announced later this year. Speculation says it'll be at the Frankfurt Autoshow. While I love the Q7, it's bigger and more expensive than I need. The big thing I didn't like was the small size of the induction phone charger. My iPhone 6s barely squeezed in (and it's not the Plus which definitely won't fit). In fact, the Q7 center console storage is about half of what I'd expect.

the answer is quite obvious:
wait for the next generation Q5 which will be based on the A4... it will have all the lovely new interior bits. besides there are new hardware bits (4wd that disengages when not needed) ..

As I (and others) have posted, I am a bit reluctant to buy that 2018 Q5 built in the new Mexico factory right away before waiting a while to ensure the "bugs" are out or don't exist. If it were coming out this fall, maybe, but I really don't want to wait another years and a half. Maybe and hopefully, the new Q5 will be glitch free, but I'm looking to sooner, rather than later. Will be (hopefully) checking out the A4 this week.

I'm in the same boat when my S5 lease expires in December. I have researched EVERY SUV/CUV available right now and the SQ5 is still the front-runner. The Jaguar F-Pace is coming in a close second, only because it is a new design. The Mercedes, BMW and Lexus do nothing for me.

I did look at the Macan. Pricing wise it's a fair bit more once I included similar equipped options. Also, I wasn't overly impressed with the headroom in the rear seats. With the sloping coupe I found as a 6'1 guy that I can't sit back all the way comfortably like how I could with the SQ5.
