Which ones did you try? Did you try the short 2013 OEM version? That appears it might easily be made to fit. Don't know for sure, that's why I am asking. I don't mind a bit of effort if it is possible. So far the Chinese ones, which could be made to fit seem to have a square gap at the bottom that can't be over come.

does anyone have a solution for mud flaps for an sline 3L q5 2016.

as i mentioned the one i bought off ebay only fit non- sline.
i check weathertech.com and they do not have one that fit s-line

the front are close, but no cigar as the mounting holes don't even align.
the rears need major surgery and cutting and are very difficult to mount.

ALSO, my CAN 3L 2016 sline Q5 came with 20" wheels std

i have mounted -2 18" wheels for the winter

On mine, after much review and trying the Chinese offerings that look like crap I stumbled on a simple solution that seems to work so far.

I went to Canadian tire here in Canada and bought a cheap flat black plastic generic set of mud flaps that were larger than needed and laid them up against the inside of the wheel well and cut them to a pleasing shape and mounted them using the available hole and secured a few others into the wheel well itself.

Everything is secure and looks just fine. Given I ordered my sline with 19 inch wheels, I am missing the wheel arch trims which I will/would like add in future to complete the issue. Seems difficult to find a set here in Canada that don't cost an arm and a leg!

Cost was about 15 dollars CDN.

I used ebay mud flaps for a non-S-line. A little trimming and they work fine. Just a small gap in the rear where I trimmed them.

Do you have a link to the ones you got? I ordered some from China and no way were they going to fit an s-line, hence my simple cheap solution.

I may order the lip extenders too. Which will allow me to keep my little cheapies.

Cheers
