Default Q5 adaptive brake lights?

So I have a 2011 Q5. I used the VAGCOM to enable adaptive brake lights. Do these only work when doing hard stopping from speed or also at rest? Thanks

I believe so. I did the same vagcom mod a few months ago and recall seeing a video on YouTube showing it. Fortunately haven't needed it but have that mod.

In EU-specced cars these options are already enabled.

What does this do exactly? Do you have to have adaptive headlights also for this to work.

Have you ever noticed that on fire trucks and ambulances, their brake lights flash several times before they come on solid when the brakes are applied?

The adaptive brake lights setting is very similar, but it does require a panic stop from high speed to activate this on our Audi's. It doesn't make them flash at low speeds, but does give people behind you additional warning when you are quickly reducing speed. Hopefully his will reduce rear end collisions.

Hope this helps.
