Does the MMI integrate with text messages of a phone connected via bluetooth? Can it read them? Can you dictate messages? Anything like that...?

Several manufacturers offer text to speech etc. I would expect more in the future. Not a big deal to me, but it's available.

Saw a BMW commercial with a feature which read incoming texts through car's audio system.

I have an iPhone 4S and have it connected via Bluetooth while driving. While I can't activate texting through MMI, I can activate Siri directly on the phone and then use the cars microphone and speakers to dictate a text message. Siri the will read aloud my dictated text and ask if I want to send the message.

Unfortunately, there is no playback for received text messages, as far as I know.

Definitely decent, but it's too bad you still need to initiate siri through the phone (i.e. it has to be docked, not in pocket.. somewhere accessible...)

I've used this with my accord:

I can hold it down and it'll activate an Android voice prompt, though not reliable (ugh!). Does the audi have any interface/button that might trigger similarly?

Just tell Siri "read me my message."

"Read me the text message I just received" works every time. You can have a dialogue with Siri through the vehicle's bluetooth connection all day long.
