q5 questions
hi we are in the market for a car, last time didnt get the q5 as the finances did not work out
now we are looking for a 2.0T used with backup camera option, a few questions:
is there a year to avoid reliability wise? (looking at 2011-2013 models, my understanding is that the water pump/carbon build up issue is not in this engine)
was backup camera option only available in MMI package ? (cars with these packages are $3k more that I can see
is CPO worth it?
we landed on the q5 b/c the x3 has no spare tire and my wife is adamant on that, and the rdx is not fun to drive...thanks!

it is ALL depends on your budget. if you want something with technology you gotta pay it... Q5's backup camera is the top equipped for MMI(you must need MMI to display the surroundings). CPO is OKAY but it really depends on mileage,condition...etc~ anyways, carfan good luck with your hunting.
thanks! budget is 35-40k with stretching to a couple extra grand if needed. back in the day i had a 2.7t a6 ('01)...that thing always seemed to have issues with oxygen sensor or oil smell inside cabin because of some leaking oil from a seal or something
are there any reliability issues consistently seen across the Q5 that one should be aware of?

Carfan,
We just picked up a 2012 Q5 2.0T P+ for $35k. We have only had it a little over a month but we love the hell out of it. I am still driving my 2001 TT, I just can't seem to part with that car. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Q5 through 2014 do not have LED headlights but HIDs. On my 2014 the DRLS are LEDs and the tail lights/brake lights seem to be a mixture of LEDs and bulbs.
