Default Google Earth vagueness

Google Earth on my SQ5 has recently gone through times of non focus, vagueness. The same area may be clear or unfocused. Appears as if GE is clear at the start of a trip, then cloudy. Anybody else experiencing this? I'd like to understand if this is happening on the Google side of things or something internal to my car.

Thank!

Do you still have Audi Connect? Once Audi connect lapsed, our GE did the same thing. It has the maps of the locations we visited most often cached, but any place new and it would become unfocused; similar to GE webpage loading slowly on a PC or tablet. I ended up turning GE off and just went with the Audi Nav maps.

I have that in certain areas, where I'll be driving and can see that I'm going from a "clear" map tile to a "blurry" one. But then when I'm leaving from out there, it'll be "clear" again. The connection is supposedly there (white "Google"), but for whatever reason it doesn't always get a higher-zoom image.

And speaking of cached images, mine always seems to reload images since it'll sit at the regular nav for a minute or two (unless it really takes that long to set up the Earth view, which would seem odd).

There is a setting where the map will zoom in at an intersection and then zoom back out after you pass it. Could this be happening?

That setting only comes into play when approaching a turn while navigating to a destination.
The OP hasn't yet responded if he still has an active Audi Connect T-Mobile account.

"clear at the start of a trip, then cloudy."
Could be starting with a hi resolution image, which takes time to download. And then switching to a cached lower-resolution image after you have left your starting point. Either due to network issues, or something else.

If you are still getting two-meter resolution, that should be good enough as long as you don't need to check the stripes in the parking lot. Although, there is at least one private vendor that has one centimeter (literally) satellite resolution available for civilian customers. So they say.
