Q5 Transmission Malfunction
I was excited to pick up my brand new 2015 Q5 - my first Audi and first "luxury" brand vehicle - on Friday. The honeymoon period didn't last long, as less than 48 hours later the transmission malfunctioned. Audi's service department is telling me the transmission needs to be replaced! Needless to say, I'm not happy and the start of my Audi experience has been horrible. Has anyone else experienced transmission problems?

Nope. The only problem I've ever had with it was last Friday. It wouldn't lock for some reason; not with the buttons on the handles, not with the remote. I got back in, started it, killed it, got out and it locked fine. It hasn't done it again since. I just figure Microsoft had something to do with the software.

I am sorry to hear of your problem.
The problem is probably mechatronic unit, automatic gearbox control controls gearboxes, so it will not affect the complete gearboxes for repair, just replacement the electronics

Good luck! My 2002 Audi A4 1.8t was the first year of a CVT transmission needed replacement at 15,000 miles. audi shipped the transmission back to Germany as it was supposedly the first time a CVT have out in the US.
After moving from the Audi to a Subauru in 2006... I'm back with a 2014 TDI and so far so good!
I'm sure it'll work out!

I have no interest in owning a new Q5 with a replaced transmission. Trying to get my money back or a replacement Q5, but no luck so far. Hoping Audi does the right thing and don't need to get lawyers involved, but not confident at this point that Audi is going to stand by their product.

Since I bought my 2015 Q5, it has spent more time at the service department then it did in my possession. I don't expect to hear anything more from Audi until next week at the earliest, so I have essentially spent $50,000 and turned over the keys to my old car so that Audi can rent me a base model Toyota, which laughably, Audi is trying to tell me is a comparable car to the Q5.

This is why I buy CPO. Either the kinks are worked out or ... Audi doesn't certify. Sorry to hear about your troubles and am sending good karma your way hoping they get fixed. It really is an excellent car (full disclosure: my wife drives a 2011 Porsche 911 Carrera S convertible and always comments on how smooth my Q5 is when she drives it).
