Q5 Transmission Question

While the OP may have a problem with his transmission, I remind everyone that the electronic parking brake is a wonderful feature to take stress off of the transmission. It should be used for parking on inclines.
It is especially useful for starts on inclines in that the EPB can be set manually while pressing on brake pedal, and released by pressing on accelerator pedal. No rolling during the transition from brake to gas.
FWIW.

How long is the OP waiting to release the brakes after shifting into reverse? If there is no delay, maybe an issue, maybe not. There is always a short delay when shifting into a gear, particularly reverse.

I'm not sure OP's transmission has problems, but OP needs to come to a full stop before switching to reverse. If not careful, automatic transmission can be damaged easily. I always wait until the transmission engages before moving forward or reverse.

Does it show this same behaviour regardless of how long you wait with foot on the brake after engaging reverse. If you engage reverse and lift foot at the same time then it may be that it hasn't quite engaged. I would test it by moving forward, braking to a complete stop, hold brake down for 10 seconds, engage reverse, hold for a further 10 and then see...
