Q5 vs. Touareg TDI
Anyone compare these two vehicles yet? The 2.0 Q5s are almost impossible to find in CT- unless you want an over equipped Audi. Will need to find a new vehicle by the end of January- coming off Jeep Cherokee lease. (no interest in another Chrysler) Goals are safety, good gas mileage, and value. Currently proud owner of a 2010 Q5 and may consider ordering the 2011 to replace the Jeep. The Touareg is pretty pricey, but would search for used.

Not sure if you're absolutely set on an SUV, but maybe check out the A4 Avant? Availability may be a bit limited though (at least in the midwest it is - I think I've only seen one on my dealer's lot), especially since you need to get it by the end of January. Guess you really love the Q5 to think about getting another one!
Sorry, no experience with the Touareg, but just tossing in the Avant out there.

The Touareg is an excellent vehicle. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/t...ying-guide.htm Take a look at this buying guide for the 2011 VW Touareg TDI. The car has taken a big step up in luxury vs. the last one but it's no longer a very capable off roader like the 2010 and older. The new car is slightly lower and they don't have the locking rear diff or low range anymore. However, the Audi never did and unless you plan on serious off roading or live on a ranch, you won't miss it.

I love the new style of the 2011 Touareg. They are a little more than a Q5 but you're talking a larger vehicle too. The Touareg is the size of the Porsche Cayenne.

I own a 2004 Touareg and it's been an incredible beast. Comfortable, very off road capable and solid in terms of build quality. I debated between getting the new T-Reg and a Q5. What made me choose the Q was that I don't need the serious off road capability and despite the exterior of the T-Reg being larger than the Q, the interior spaciousness wasn't a huge gain. The biggest factor though was price, the TDI is upper $50's comparably equipped to a 3.2 Prestige S Line. I paid $50k for the Q so for my needs I thought the performance and pricing of the Q was more attractive.
The new T-Reg is supposed to be incredible though, if you get one let us know how you like it!
