Some may be against the aftermarket hitch idea, but I installed the 12' hidden hitch myself (took about 1.5 - 2 hrs) as I only needed it for a bike rack. I did this because my wife when using the Q cannot reach the roof and I wanted something easy for her when she takes her bike along.
It looks pretty great and the best part is I can remove it anytime..No cutting or any such thing of the bumper. Main reason was price just FYI. Its 200 vs the 800+ installation from the dealer.

The hitches come in either 2in or 1.25 inch. When you get a bike rack you can get either size (amazon.com) and have loads to choose from. I bought a 3 bike one that swings out so it doesnt block with back from opening. Works like a charm.

Thanks Reggie - great detail in the photos. Exactly what I'm looking to do with mine but with a 4 bike carrier. Anyone have any thoughts about how this might affect re-sale - the thought being that the hitch is not for towing (at least by me) just for use with a bike carrier?

Good point - still some psychological hangup about cutting into anything on the car :-) though some of the examples here are first rate jobs!
