I rotate two 32gb sandisk sdxc cards with music and audio books. Cost was cheap. Never a problem. The almost invisible slot is perfect.
That's a lot of data for traveling...

pete-
I hope you're not confusing what I misspoke elsewhere with someone else. I DID in fact use a 128GB sdxc card in the AMI system, and it DID work.

I found out later, and posted the update, that everything past 32gb simply wasn't found by the system. And the system wasn't even smart enough to say "I can't do this" or "I'm stumped", it just said the rest of the files didn't exist.

I can't speak for that other guy, but in my case, I did test a 64GB card loaded with 40+ GB of data, and I did verify that the system played everything.

I'm using 256GB SDXC cards formatted as FAT32 with no issues in my 2013 Q5 w/ B&O and my 2014 A7 w/ Bose. Currently have 142GB (over 10,000 files) of AAC 320K.

Audi does not support any lossless format at this time.

This might be a silly question, but does the 2014 SQ5 have an SD card slot? I haven't seen one conspicuously located in mine (Technic package w/ NAV, Canadian vehicle)

It has two SD card slots. Press the "OPEN" button and the "Audi Multimedia" cover will drop down, revealing the slots. Fast forward to 1:50...

Just curious, but can your ears actually make out a difference between 320 kbps AAC and a 320 kbps MP3 in a blind test?

My ears aren't what they once used to, probably due to age, so even MP3 VBR2 sounds good enough to me.

Great! I never use CD's and thought that this entire area was CD-related. Should have known the OPEN button was for something else when the EJECT button is right it beside it. Thanks Pete!

What other secret compartments will I discover next in the German machine...

Secret compartments? Like the open secret, the empty liftgate compartment when EU models would have a collapsible mandatory safety triangle stored. Funny, if it is so important, and Audi is so concerned with safety, why is it deleted from the US models? Leaving such an expensive useless compartment empty.

And a second secret compartment of sorts...the inside emergency release handle for the liftgate, requiring you to pry off a cover that is next to the load floor, so you'll never see it or access it if the rear compartment is full. Hmmm...

There's also supposed to be an "electronics bay" under the passenger side seat, under the carpet, empty if you don't have some of the electronics options.

fwiw.
