You might try one of these floor mounts:
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B...rch_detailpage

A couple of companies make similar, with varying "holders" at the top end.

You loosen the front seat rail bolt, passenger side, slide the mounting foot under it, tighten it back down. Now you've got a rugged gooseneck stalk that can hold pretty much anything up in front of the dash. And no, it really doesn't impose on the passenger either.

I was going to suggest using a clothes iron and a damp towel.

iOttie iOttie iTap Magnetic Air Vent Mount for iPhone 6/6 Plus/5s/5c, Galaxy Note 4/3, Galaxy S6/ S6 Edge/5/4

Fingers crossed your spot is just an indention and disappears!
Be real careful about using vent clips in Audis. I have a Kenu clip vent mount which is an excellent product and I've used it in numerous rental vehicles with no problems. I needed a temporary mount in my Q7 one day and as soon as I put it over the vanes (with nothing installed), the whole assembly disintegrated. the plastic that the horizontal vanes pivot on are very small and fragile. The vent assemblies are easily replaced but they're not cheap (over $200).

I had a rubber mat to hold my toll reader in place on the dash. It left a mark that wouldn't clean no matter what I tried. In time, the sun faded the mark so that it's barely visible now. If time doesn't help, I would think a good auto upholstery shop could apply some matching dye to the ring to blend it away. You don't need a new dash.

But with those little vent clips you have to stick a magnet on your phone or phone case which means they dont sit well on a desk etc. These one are magnet free...

Kenu Airframe - Kenu (for phones)
Kenu Airframe+ - Kenu (for phablets)

You can even get copies from aliexpress for a couple of dollars.

I've been using an original airframe in my SQ5 airvent with my iphone for a few months now. Works like a charm!

Have you tried a Magic Eraser on this spot? My wife manages to get her makeup on everything...NOTHING gets it off the interior of her rides except for those little things.

But it's an indentation not a stain.
