Indentations will disappear most likely. Time is required...and perhaps the odd massage with hands to help it out!

I use this mount that slots right into the CD slot. It is very solid and it does not move at all, so it works well if you are like me and never use CDs.

The OP never said it was an indentation. He said it looked like some "sticky stuff" soaked into the dash.

^ I used goo gone on the sticky stuff from the suction. What's left is more of an indent.

I'm confused, why not just use the suction cup on the windshield? Too far away?

I used a similar mount in my A6 and it did the same thing. I removed it and cleaned it. After a month or so of summer sun the indentation went away.

"Rubber" has been a hot button topic for at least 20 years. Especially if it comes from anonymous lowest-cost bidders in China. I've seen turntable mats degenerate into tar, foam cushions into crumbly dust, and most recently, I had one of those "put this on the dashboard and your phone won't skid around" mats had been in the cargo area for a couple of months. It mysteriously cracked and split into about eight pieces, with no abuse. For two bucks I'm not crying, but the suction cup on my Trimble GPS is rotting, turning to gum, and they're simply not selling replacements for those. A bit more upsetting.
