A very strange question. My Q5 2010 supposedly had hard drive based navigation database updated in the dealership, but in the settings for navigation in my car I still see the same database version (NAR 5.3.4). Also the software version is shown the same. When I asked the dealer about it, the guy have shown that the SD card has much higher version of software, and he supposedly uploaded it into my car. But both Software version and Navigation database version in my car is the same as before, and the guy says that this is how it supposed to be.

Another thing: the interchange next to my house has been different for the last 2 years, and my wife's audi (half year old A4) has it correct, but my "2015 updated" version of the navigation software does not have the new version of the interchange.

Did they incorrectly updated the software?

Any light on this situation is appreciated.

Basically the question is if you see new version in setup/setting when you navigation database is updated.

I certainly expect it to change to the version installed... According to the web, 5.3.4 is ancient and from 2010.

6.11.2 is current 2015 map. 6.10.2 is predecessor.

Yes, the SD card that they show me did contain 6.11.2, and they claim that they have updated my car using that card. However, I just do not see it in Setup/Settings. It still shows the old version. Did you (or anyone else on these forums) personally have seen the version change in Setup/Settings after navigation update?

They have to 'activate' the new maps for them to come active... Perhaps they failed to do that.

Yes, once activated you should see new version. I have a 2014 Q and mine is at NAR 6.8.2. Looking to see where I can get update without having to go to dealer.

The strange thing is that the maps are working, that the old maps are still on hard drive. I thought that the maps are deleted when update happens. Anyway. I have asked them specifically about the activation, they have said yes. So, I am just looking for independent confirmation that indeed when maps are updated the navigation database version stays the same (or not).

Sorry, can not understand your answer. Did you see yourself with your eyes that the version number on Q5 have increased due to the update?

When it comes to upgrading the first goes upgrade software and then a new maps.
All old settings - software and maps will be deleted

Say hello your dealer and tell him it is a liar and it is not made upgrade your navigation
