Default Smart door handles not so good in the cold

Anyone else with the smart key/smart door handles find that the grip-door-handle-to-unlock function doesn't work reliably when the temp gets below about 30 degrees F? Even with a bare hand, which is *cold* when it's 5 degrees out.

Yup...I have the same problem with my SQ5. It just makes the sound but doesn't unlock unless you push the unlock button on the key.

On a little different twist... Ive noticed that when I wash the car (and have the keys in my pocket) the car repeatedly locks and unlocks itself... odd ;>)

I have not had any problems with the smart lock function...live in Va, temps in single digits...BUT I have the same problem when washing my car...solution, put the key at least 6 feet away from the car...

No issues with our Q5. It's been very cold around here (sub zero to mid teens).

I leave the key in the car. Also find a combination of wash and cold temps makes the door handles less responsive.

Mine work perfectly, even with gloves on. (I have smart touch gloves designed for touch screens)

I have these issues, mostly when the car is covered with dirt, salt and or snow. It has worked fine in the cold temperatures as long as the car is relatively clean....

We had a little trouble the first winter; then the sensor failed. New sensor under warranty. No problems since. Minnesota. It's below zero at the moment and they are working fine.

Move somewhere warmer. Problem solved.
