Default SQ5 & S-Line Fender Extension Removal

Has anyone removed the plastic fender extensions from the fenders? I've only seen them on the SQ5 & S-Line models. They look like an after thought by Audi to add fender coverage for the larger wheels. They appear to be stuck on the inner fender with two side tape so removal would be fairly simple. The vehicle would look better without them but I wonder if it would become problematic during the winter months. Any thought?

Default They are also on Prestige level Q5's...

like my Hybrid, and thus aren't actually directly tied to the wider tire ones. Mine came with 235's on 19's originally. They are just held on with adhesive pre-applied to the trim piece itself (with peel off tape) if ever replaced--in a bumper skin re finish they would need to be replaced in back for example.

I think the vehicle looks better with them than without them, so have no intention of fooling with them. At the margin they logically will keep some of the side splash down, more visible with a darker paint and where in turn those extensions also blend in better.

I removed them yesterday. They come off pretty easily. The rears are held on by two sided tape. The fronts are held on by black clips and two sided tape. They can be reinstalled fairly easily as well.

Let us know how it goes.
I have no desire to remove mine, but I'm interested in your outcome.
