Default Took the plunge-ordered 2014 Q5 3.0T

After looking around at a few different vehicles we finally took the plunge and ordered a 2014 Q5 3.0T on Oct. 31. Haven't heard anything from the dealer yet, but when we ordered they said delivery would be somewhere around March of 2014. Apparently the 3.0T is extremly rare up here in Canada and not much for an allotment for each dealer.

Looking forward to getting it in. We ordered the following:

2014 Q5 3.0T Technik
Scuba Blue Metallic
B&O

Thanks!!

Those are great pictures. It is amazing how the colour seems to change in the different light.

It is a pain in the butt having to wait that long, but it'll be worth it.

Is your 4+ month wait due to a Canadian delivery? I ordered mine last week and was told this might be my wife's valentines day gift. So roughly three months which is the norm for US delivered cars. Now my A6 was Audi exclusive color ordered and it took 6 months. That was a long time. Enjoy the wait. It will be worth it. I just hope mine is not 4 months. I can't wait that long again.

No, the dealer "sandbagged" the delivery. If it shows up in 3 months, they're heros. They've left wiggle room.

OP, congrats. It's a great car. Just turned 30000 km yesterday.
I've only seen one other 3.0. Everyone seems to buy 2.0Ts.

The 5 month wait is primarily due to an allotment issue. My dealer is only allowed an allotment of 2 per month of the supercharged engines. If there are other people ahead of me that ordered the same engine then ours gets pushed back.

I guess they submit the order to Audi Canada who then submits it to Germany. The salesman said he would ge back to us (hopefully soon) it a little more definitive date.

There are quite a large # of Q5s and Audi's in general in this area, and I still have yet to see another 3.0T on the road. The dealer I bought from sells every allocated 3.0 they get to custom order and haven't been able to keep 1 for stock. This goes back to last November.

Not to offend 2.0T or TDI owners, but for me personally, going 3.0T is a decision I enjoy every day I drive it.

Next step now that I've broken thru the 10k miles mark is a tune to recoup the other 100 hp Audi held back for the SQ5.
