Well, that's just what the software costs, but Stages 2-6 also require some associated hardware cost.
But I'm curious how they're getting 435 HP with just software...

Each one of those hp get more expensive the higher you go from stock.
The first 80 hp costs around $2,000 usd. The next 80 hp costs around $10,000 more.
I would think that stage 6 also entails considerable labor costs unless you are a skilled technician

If you want to have a 3.0 engine with 505HP this you must to pay
SQ5 Premium Plus 354HP 57.500$ vs Q5 Premium Plus 2.0TFSI 225HP 48.000$ both with NAV and the B&O, difference power of 129 HP will pay approximately $ 9,000

Yes you are right. Because I drive an SQ5 I was thinking in those terms. But this only proves my point that the first HP is cheaper and easier to get than the higher HP. And yes..Torque is really what we want, especially for street cars
Are you considering the value of a factory warranty in your equation of a modified Q5 versus an SQ5? My last car was a 5.7 hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee, which I had tuned, aftermaket exhaust, cold air inlet, larger throttle valve..and I always had it in the back of my mind that I was playing with fire. Having the peace of mind of a factory warranty and a very quick stock SQ5 is good for me right now.

Sorry but not true only 80 HP, for Q5 3.0TFSI from 272 HP to 435 HP is 163 HP not 80HP, what is more important from 400Nm to 570Nm

Here is not speaks about warranty, but about tuning
Who gives warranty APR or REVO or ....???
FROM ABT:
Audi RS7 (4G8) 4,0 ltr. TFSI from 412 kW (560 HP), 700 Nm to approx. 515 kW (700 HP), 880 Nm, increase of V-Max to 320 km/h 11.800 EUR 2 years warranty up to 100.000 km, 140HP with guarantee pay cca $15.000
I just put the link as interesting, I have no intention persuaded someone to do it or not
Simply if you don't like, do not use the tuning end of story
FYI: This is just to see the potential of the engine 3.0TFSI (project from 2009) under tab: Facts and figures
Audi Q5 custom concept > Design studies > Audi St. Lucia
Audi Q5 custom concept > Design studies > Design & technology > Audi

Extra power is always fun, but the extra down time for maintenance and unexpected failures will always create anxiety for a vehicle owner who needs the reliability for daily driving..... If the vehicle is used only on occasion then it's not that big of an issue, but when you push the boundaries of any vehicle to gain every extra piece of power, you lose the reliability with it....
Superchargers will have to be rebuilt when you push them heavily..... Fuel system components will have to be replaced more often when they're strained...... And then all the wear and tear, which is accelerated, on the drivetrain, will make anyone think twice when used daily....
Throwing money at it will help, but overtime one will always start to think, "is this money well spent?"....
Is more power possible....absolutely .......but remember what your losing.....and if anyone tries to say there is no down side to performance modifications on any vehicle.... Be wary of their wisdom.....
