Default suspension creaking

I have a 2012 2.0T with 40k miles that I bought new. I recently started hearing a creaking sound presumably from the suspension when I'm driving at low speeds coming to a stop. It generally happens when I make a K-turn on my driveway or in a parking lot. The noise starts as I'm slowing down from around 5mph and stops a split second after the the car stops. It happens when I drive forward or backward. Is this a known problem with our cars?

If it is suspension then you should be able to make the car the make the sound with the car parked. You may have to turn the steering wheel as you do in a K turn and flex the car up and down. Springs creak when they broken and usually from rust. The rear springs were famous for this on the B5 A4's. The lower spring cups on those would catch salt. Our Q5 lower spring cups look to be better design and have a plastic deflector that the B5 A4's did not have. If it is a broken spring, it is a good idea to fix it right away or do not drive the car. The broken spring can "escape" the cups and puncture a tire at speed. Springs should always be replaced as a set. Please let us know what you find. Have not heard of Q5 springs breaking yet.
