tdi lease
Hi I'm new.
I'm looking into TDI's.
I wanted to find out audi's buy rate and residual on Q5 tdi 2015 for 36/12k miles and 15k miles.
I assume audi does not do multiple security deposits to buy the rate down?
General thought seems to be that audis don't lease well, is that true?
if anyone would care to share their lease deal (loosely) that would be really helpful. Even some advice about sample 36month leases would be awesome.
I'm coming from bmw and I don't know jack about audi financial details.
I was cross shopping bmw x5 and I've about given up on bmw dealers.
thanks everyone

TDI residuals and costs are in flux right now. Generally they aren't as good as BMWs but they aren't bad.
You might be able to get a really good deal on one soon. IF they are even continuing to sell them.

Here are Sept numbers for the TDI:
36/15 - .00184 and either 58% (Premium Plus) or 54% (Prestige).
42/15 - .00204 and either 54% (Prem Plus) or 50% (Prestige).
BTW: I have a BMW X5 diesel and got a great rate in 2013.
I am looking at the SQ5 because the Q5 TDI which naturally would be my progression, did not offer the ride I was looking for - felt more like the new F15...
The SQ5 is better IMO than the Macan S!~

thank you 4 sally,
Are you saying that x5 rides the same as q5? as far as comfort factor?
I have not driven an sq5, just sat in one and wondered if I could drive 400 miles without stopping from getting sore.
I'm in a 535 msport at the moment.
I need comfort, my M days are behind me at this point

My 2nd gen X5 hits hard, wobbles, and hurts me now that I am older.
But on the other hand the 3rd generation X5 is much to soft, mushy, and disconnected - great if you like the Lexus / Caddy type ride.
The SQ5 is totally different animal - makes the Q5 look sedentary.
You should try out the SQ5 just to make sure you don't want the peppier engine, slightly lower ride, and more responsive suspension/throttle.
Can't believe after 15 years with BMW, I am switching brands - the Audi is going to be awesome.
Now it's a matter of choosing between ordering a Q5 3.0 TDI with adaptive dampening suspension & luxury package or the SQ5 in gasser.....

Just when I thought I had fallen in love with the SQ5, I got the opportunity to drive another TDI and that freekin enormous hit of torque just stuck with me more.
I'm sure the SQ5 is better on the track and the go-to variant for high-RPM performance, but at the low-end, I like the TDI much better.
Now I'm pretty sure if Audi made a Q5 equivalent to the Cayenne GTS I'd be sold.
For now I'd say go TDI, unless you really plan to take it to the track.
