As much as I want out of my fraudulent TDI, I have to admit Im at 33k miles with no problem.

A diesel should be good for at least 300k miles with regular maintenance. Probably need a new turbo and maybe transmission before then but thats just conjecture.

2014 Q5 TDI here with 43k Miles. Zero Issues other than the Diesel Gate. I would love to keep my TDI to at least 100k, but will have to evaluate what the fall out from the diesel gate will be.

48k miles. Adblue pump failed at 34k. Others have experienced, but at least it's a small sample size.

I have a 2014 TDI... It has gone in for 2 scheduled services, oil change and 15K service. zero problems.

Unlike those who feel scandalized by dieselgate my sentiment is that "you'll never be able to buy a TDI again in North America for a very long time"... Hence I intend to keep mine until it no longer makes any practical sense to do so... 20 years? 30 years?

Some Touareg owners have had problems with the DEF system components. A failed HPFP is a much bigger concern, with repairs potentially getting very, VERY expensive. Fuel quality is an issue, but don't assume that purchasing diesel fuel at a top tier station guarantees quality. In my area it's not unusual for diesel pumps to wear a disclaimer indicating the diesel is not refined by the company providing the gasoline.

man a failed HPFP and it can happen without warning.. so I assume if it's got 90k+ miles it's already happened?

100% agree. I got the Q (2014 Prestige TDI - 100% problem free) and wish (sometimes) I had the Touareg for the difference in size only.

You know, I might well be still driving my 2010 TDI Touareg if the VW dealership could fix the damn thing. It wasn't the Treg's fault. It was not a lemon. But it did have some issues and VW doesn't sell enough of them to gain any level of expertise in the service department. Well, that and they liked taking [like] 87 mile test drives in MY Touareg for problems that were "cold start". I absolutely loved it and did some CRAZY 4-wheelin' in it. I sold it to a guy in CA who had a Porsche, Audi, VW dealership and they had all the issues fixed in a week.

I have had my TDi for 2 years + 17k miles (Yes, it's low) and I haven't had any issues at all.

It's perfect for my "daily" commute to/from work in NYC.

I consistently get 500+ miles to a tank and the torque is perfect for city driving.

So, is Audi still selling Q5 TDIs or is there a moratorium on that because of "Dieselgate"?

Sorry if I've missed a thread.

How big of a issue is this HPFP issue? That's the part that worries me the most.. as I hear it can happen without warning.. I assume if it's like 60k it would of happened already? Or perhaps the dealer can replace with new before selling?
