Ok, so since I can't find a sport suspension shock with the best damping for the HAS, I'm going to scrap them, and go KW v1 Coils.

I'm not so much afraid of blowing shocks out (which could happen), as much as I am dropping it to the point the shocks can't dampen the bumps and cause it to bounce in a situation I don't want the car to be out of control.

I'm going with v1 I think, because the factory damping option from v1s is sporty, and tight, but retains ride quality. It's a middle if the pack setting. I don't want so hard over bumps I can't stand it, and I also don't want so loose that it doesn't stiffen the ride.

I haven't got the HAS out of the box yet, so I'll just eat the return shipping cost and get store credit toward the v1s, which I should have done in the first place.

I was under the impression the SQ5 had the sport shock on it, but it does not appear to. Only the regular one.

You should really consider the Bilstien PSS10 kit that I run. Much less expensive than the V1's and it is an awesome ride.

I was leaning that way heavily, but ECS tuning doesn't carry that for the Q5/SQ5 (that I can find), and I'm returning my KW HAS to them for store credit. So I have to buy from them.

They sell the PSS10 but not for our car fitment it looks like.

I sent the KW H.A.S. back yesterday.

Pulled the trigger on the Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers kit today. It's a C7 setup.
@S-Fore has been running it with no issues at all. Direct install & perfect fitment. The shocks are the same for both the B8 and C7 kits. And the Springs are heavier on the C7 kit due to the higher curb weight of the vehicle.

C7 RS6 4.0T Curb weight (4,299 lbs.)
B8 SQ5 3.0T Curb weight (4,420 lbs.)
B8 S4 3.0T Curb weight (3,825 lbs.)

Got it through Mops over on AZ. Great guy to help get with questions for mods.

Also getting the 21" rims off the car tomorrow, they head to powder coat Saturday morning, and new summer rubber will go back on them prior to final install. Probably going with the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT this time, as the PZero's wore super fast. I'd love a Michelin Pilot SS option, but maybe by next year they'll add that to their line up.

Once I get the coils here, the wheels back, and my mirrors done, the install will begin.

Will keep the thread updated.

Where are you getting the powder coating done? There's a guy named Eddie Burns in Charleston that coated the 19" wheels on my last VW. It would have been $280, but I wanted a coat of clear over the color so it was $400 for all four.

I talked with Kustom Koatings in Huntington.
He quoted me $110/each. Not far off.

I could talk to Burns today. I'll be up in Charleston later this afternoon.

Thanks for the info!

Firestone in Barboursville covered the cost of mine after they messed up every wheel while mounting tires.
