That is good to hear for the Audi. Unfortunately, for Volvo they don't give you that option. It is either on or off with a button on the dash, but no option to disable it for good.

I noticed a significant reduction in the rough downshift when braking. This little mount just seemed to make everything a bit more solid. 10 minute install and instructions that are fun to read.

Check the Volvo forums (or look in the manual) to see if there's a dedicated fuse for the system. Maybe you can pull the fuse and leave it in the 'off' position.

I have no clue if that's possible, but just thinking out loud.

It is the wife's car, so doesn't bother me all that much. Plus she has gotten into the habit of starting the car and immediately disengaging it. It is usually only when I drive that it is active.

Is it possible to get to it without elevating the vehicle? My ramps are packed in storage, ugh...

Flip the car on its side.

In all seriousness, how about putting 2 of the wheels up on a curb, that should give you enough room to get underneath. Not saying this is the best way to approach this, but certainly one way.

Just don't use the factory jack without any jack stands.

Yeah, I was thinking of driving up on some 2x4s. Is the mount closer to the driver side or passenger side? Or is it pretty much in the middle?

middle, might be best to drive the front tires up on a curb or 2x4's (scary), at least make them 2x8's or 10's and nail them together. (My lawyer said that I am not endorsing this though).

I didn't need anything at stock height...just reached under with one arm.
If you're lowered, you may have to use something like the above suggestions.

Where exactly is it located? Front center of car?
