Got it working last night after lots of trial and error! 2G is painful though.

Now need to figure out how to get the dealer to update my modem!

Check out post #4 on the below thread and ask your dealer to upgrade?

Did you get the letter from Audi regarding the modem update? If not, I think you can check your VIN online to see if your car qualifies - Or call the dealer to check. It takes less than an hour to do and well worth it.

What did you have to do to get it working?

there are two places to set it up - and i kept using both.

the key for me was to use the first option in the data connection. the second one was "auto configuration" i believe and that one wouldn't let me change the APN to "pwg". So, I left that one alone and only changed the first data connection option to "pwg", then a blank space inserted for username, and nothing for password.

that got me working finally and I stopped trying to use the auto config tool.

No letter since I never signed up for audi connect - I just got this vehicle 2 weeks ago. Another poster told me to sign up for Audi Connect / Tmobile just to get the upgrade...then cancel and move back to usmobile.

Default Audi Connect & US Mobile SIM

Our Audi Connect plan has run out, and I'm mainly interested in getting traffic reports on the MMI. I bought a US Mobile SIM card, and I believe it's working because I see data transfer stats increasing on the MMI.

However, I don't see any traffic reports.

Do I have to renew my Audi Connect/T-Mobile account to get traffic reports, or is there some MMI setup detail I'm missing?

Traffic reports come from SiriusXM, not Audi Connect in this vehicle. Its different in the newer models, but the Q5 comes from SiriusXM
