2014 Q5 S-Line compatibility with running boards & tow hitch
I've seen a few threads briefly touching on the subject, but nothing definitive with regard to this specific configuration:
Can a factory tow-hitch (w/ side assist) be installed in conjunction with the factory running boards and S-Line package?
Can my VCDS be used to complete the tow-hitch installation with regard to whatever sensor tweaking that needs to be performed (obviously assumes a yes to the first question).
If anyone has personal experience with my conundrum, I'm all ears. Looking at options for my '14 TDI.
Thanks!

Invisihitch doesn't utilize the factory tow module (included with the OEM hitch) that tells the ECU that a trailer is attached to modify the behavior of the stability control and backup camera. This extra module must be present for the ECU to accept the various codings for the trailer.
That being said, the Invisihitch is an excellent solution if you want a clean, unmolested look when a hitch is not installed. It eliminates the slop of the standard receiver and pin because it uses a single piece that snaps vertically into "their receiver".

My dilemma isn't so much the price, but rather the steps required to install it myself. Trying to gather accurate info on accommodating the side assist, running boards, etc. has been a challenge.
I'm looking at the occasional short-range motorcycle transportation so I shouldn't be stressing the car to its towing limits.
