Default what a PITA...

to change the pass. side HID bulb. The air box had to come out, installing everything back took a while because the airbox "did not want" to go back onto its mounting points. I had to remove the air filter, air intake pipe, install lower portion of the airbox, install upper part w/ air filter, the re-connect the 2 air intake pieces, and the air pipe from the airbox to the engine.
There are at least 6-7 torx screws to undo in order to access air filter. I did not even figure out how to remove the air filter from its housing...To compare, in RX350 air filter is accessed w/o use of any tools.

How old and how many miles on this Q5 that needed a new HID? Just curious.

haven't checked myself on the Q5, but on my previous B8 A4, I took the entire headlight assembly out to replace the HID bulbs - was actually a pretty easy process - maybe 10 minutes per headlight - about 3 screws and the headlight is out.

Went via the DIY in the S4 forum - https://www.audiworld.com/forums/s4-...ments-2772160/

You probably want to replace both of them at the same time to maintain the same color temperature/performance.

replacement was Osram but same 4300K, so it looks the same. After 5 years of ownership I am not looking at such small details anymore.
