Default 2013 Q5 Prestige Garnet Red Pearl

I didn't think this color was possible on a new Q5. I like it.

Are you sure that's Garnet Red, and not Volcano Red? In certain light, they can be quite similar.

WAIT!!! What is that? Since when was there a red of any kind for 2013? The closest thing was the teak brown, right?

Which dealer is that? Is that Mission Viejo?

It's the dealer in Rancho Mirage. I asked them to send a copy of the sticker. I'll confirm the color. Dealer said it was a special order. Very special I'd say. She also said it was the same red as the A7 red.

I never realized that you could special order a color not listed as an option for a particular model. That really does look fantastic. I love how the tail lights blend into that paint. Only thing is those base wheel would have to go. It would look great with the 20" S-Line rims.

Yep, for $2500 and up you can get a color that your region doesn't have, such as Volcano Red which Canada gets as a base color and a lot of people here wish we had. The $2500 is for one of the in-production Audi colors (the ones certain configurators show: check the UK one to see the individual color swatches), then there's a larger cost for an out-of-production Audi color, and then a still-larger cost for a totally custom color (absolutely any color you want).

Wild. So, on that very car, the sticker is likely $2500 higher, right? Odd, that they would special order that kind of expensive premium, but not get the S-Line package, too. Or is that one a Prestige model?

Maybe it's just the way the swing in Palm Springs.
