Default Winter tire making noise

I have 2015 Q5 TDI. Last friday I changed my 20" summer performance tires to 17" winter tires. However, on my way home whenever I make left turn or in reverse turn left it makes strange noise. The same noise is seen when I make sudden breaks.
Any clue? I am taking it back to dealer today.

I was told by my Bell Audi dealer that the winter tire package (I bought them from sunset audi in oregon - audiusaparts.com) does not fit my 2014 Q5 TDI, the only winter tire package which will fit is 19" winter tire package which cost around $4200. Is he right?
I feel I have been cheated by audiusaparts, though It is my mistake to save money and go with genuine OEM tires advertised by them on invoice. These 17" rim/tire are scratching the brake calipers hence cannot be used.
Any suggestions whether 18" tire/rim combination will work, the Bell Audi representative was insisting on 19" only.

Can someone verify whether 17" rim/tire package (Part# 8R0073637A (left front, left rear) and part# 8R073537A (right front, right rear) fits on my 2014 Q5 TDI. I am hearing conflicting statements from Audi dealers (Bell Audi and Schneider Audi in NJ) as they claim only 19" rim/tire fits on my car which came originally with 20" summer performance tires. The sunset audi from beverton oregon looked up in their parts database and told me that 17" winter rim/tire does fit and even sent me the image capture of the database search. They were kind enough to give me complete refund for their mistake.

spijun,

The Bell Audi guy kept on insisting the brake caliphers dont fit even when I sent him the image from sunset Audi. I told him I want to give him the business and whether he could verify the same. He is going to get back to me tomorrow. It should be easy for their parts guy to check right away. Looks shady. The sunset Audi guy said that their is indeed a 17" package which will fit my vin# model Q5 even though my brake caliphers are bigger in size due to 20" summer performance tires. he said the SQ5 has the biggest brake caliphers and as a result 17" do not fit on them, you need to buy 19" and above tire package.

It is true that the SQ need larger wheels than 17 "but not 3.0TDI
Here on the forum exist members who have on SQ 18" winter set of wheels

As Spijun has already said, 18" wheels do fit on the '14 Q5. As a matter of fact, I am running 18"s on my SQ5 which has much larger front calipers/rotors than a TDI. If you are going to run 18" wheels, you will have to make sure they have the correct offset so they clear the calipers.

If you want OEM wheels from the Audi dealer, I guess you will have to get 19's unless you can find some 18" takeoffs that might fit such as from an S4.

According to dealertire.com site (what I got from SunsetAudi for my car). See the Image below

Finally got my 17" winter tire package installed at another local dealer. Everything looks good so far.
