Default '15 SQ5 vs '14 SQ5 fuel economy

I just noticed today that the EPA ratings for the 2015 went up 1 mpg city and highway. Did the specification change or did they just change the rating?

Well there's our difference! Good call, Transfer, and thanks for looking it up, spijun. Start-stop I figured would come to the SQ5 (and other S models) at some point, but not quite so soon. A lot of people will just turn it off, I'd imagine, but it's at least nice for them to have the option to play with.

Lots of highways you have to stop on, doesn't necessarily mean "freeway". I'm not sure if the highway estimate incorporates stops these days or not, though; the base "highway" test doesn't, but they've added a lot of tests and they all get rolled up into two numbers, so it's possible that enough was incorporated such that the highway number got bumped up to the next whole number (depending on how they handle it, it could just have needed a small increase if it was close before).

I interesting that the 2.0t doesn't have start/stop yet. The X3 2.0t has it, although most of the reviews I read while shopping mentioned that it's more noticeable than on other vehicles and most of the testers turned it off. Maybe it's a small displacement thing.

I've seen a couple of articles saying this feature hasn't resonated with drivers in the US yet. I'm sure it's not going anywhere and will be offered on more vehicles..
