Most rear disc brakes have little dimples on the piston. Due to the emergency brake, they need to be pushed and turned at the same time. The Q5 does not need this due to it being a electromechanical parking brake and it is released through the computer (VCDS). Front discs only ever need to pushed straight back. If you push a rear caliper with the two dimples in the piston straight back without turning it, it will take a lot more force, and you will probably ruin the caliper.

The reason I suggested the kit is that it comes with a special plate that goes on the end of the "pusher" (sort of like a c-clamp but nor really) that sits where the pad usually does, this enables you to push the piston straight back with no trouble at all (though I can't remember if it was the front or rear, but it doesn't have that grove in it, which makes you have to push at a slight angle.)

Oh in case anyone is wondering about pulling the parking brake when moving (I didn't really trust it) I did try it in a parking lot going around 10km/h...just like it says, it applies full ABS to all 4 instead of putting on the parking brake

"I have done a lot of brake jobs and have never heard of turning and pushing a brake caliper cylinder at the same time. "
Even Toyota was doing this in the 80's, with totally conventional brake systems. And Saturn, which of course was usually Opel in disguise.
Most of the auto chains that have free tool loan programs, will loan you a kit with a dozen different specialty tools in it, one to fit each line.
