Default Engine runs good after "Avoid warming up your engine while stationary..."

Hello Friends

First of all this is what I observed and would like to learn more on this from you.

As you all know during morning first cold start - Avoid warming up your engine while stationary warning comes if you idle your car for a short time. Based on my experiment in last 2 weeks (I am doing a pattern couple of days now, alternative days I wait for this warning to come to start driving next day I drive out immediately after starting the engine) - whenever this message comes and I start driving after that, engine is smooth and gives me more MPG for my daily commute to work. I use my Queffy (my pet name for my Q5 ) everyday to work - same route - same time in the morning - if I do start driving right away with out waiting for this warning to come - car is kind of not smooth for the first 5-10 mins. and average MPG displayed on screen is very less. However on the days when this warning comes and you drive it - its very smooth and my average mpg displayed on the screen is better for that day Is this just me or have you observed same kind of behavior? Is it something to do with the oil circulations on a cold start? - Just curious What is the recommended way to do this?
