It stays at 0.

That's interesting as the 2014 when stopped at 0 volume goes up to the preset min volume setting on the next startup.

I guess they added that in 2015 and that is indeed a nice addition.

I actually don't even have a setting for minimum volume, or I don't know where to find it.

Do you have the latest mmi firmware version on yours?

It's a VCDS coding in the radio controller.

Got it. Will have to check if Carista offers any configuration options around this.

I wonder if there is any other vehicle other than VW/Audi that has a volume default on the radio. I'm still puzzled but really appreciate the posts so I can stop searching for what I thought would be an obvious setting.

Love the ride of the '16 Q5. Feels great going down the road and the best feature by far for me is the almost 500 mi range I get in this SUV!

Can this be enabled on the older models? There are no volume settings in the MMI of my 2012. I do have a VCDS cable.

You will just need to connect the VCDS and check.

Look at post #5 in this thread...........

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...artup-2891328/

According to that post if one sets the radio volume to 0 at shutdown, then you should have 0 at startup. I have a 2014 and with a minimum value of 16% allowed coding, if I set volume to 0 at shutdown, at startup I have that 16% volume (which is acceptably low), but not 0
